Characteristics Of Cognitive Bias In College Students With Different Levels Of Rejection Sensitivity | | Posted on:2024-07-02 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X Bai | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307112471844 | Subject:Psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Rejection sensitivity is defined as a cognitive-affective processing disposition to anxiously expect,readily perceive,and overreact(emotionally or behaviorally)to rejection.Previous studies have shown that rejection sensitivity is not good for individuals to establish interpersonal relationships and cultivate harmonious mental state.Rejection sensitivity is associated with depression,loneliness,anxiety,borderline personality disorder and other emotional disorders.Systematically investigate the initial response selective memory and comprehension bias of individuals with different rejection sensitivity to different types of interpersonal information.It is helpful to understand the formation and maintenance mechanism of rejection sensitivity more deeply,and also helpful to carry out the intervention work of individuals with high rejection sensitivity.However,a review of previous studies shows that there are few experimental studies on the cognitive characteristics of individuals with rejection sensitivity,and memory bias and interpretive bias are less involved.Based on this,this paper intends to explore the characteristics and mechanism of attentional bias,memory bias and interpretive bias of college students with different rejection sensitivities through three studies.In this study,80 subjects were selected from 511 subjects from a university in Jiangxi Province by the tendency to expect rejection scale.63 subjects(31 in the high rejection sensitivity group and 32 in the low rejection sensitivity group)participated in the follow-up study and completed the dot probe paradigm,recognition paradigm and word sentence association paradigm in turn.In the first study,dot probe paradigm was used to compare the attentional bias of individuals with different rejection sensitivity.The results showed that individuals with high rejection sensitivity had attentional avoidance on negative face pictures,but no attentional bias for positive and neutral faces.The second study used the recognition paradigm to explore the memory bias of individuals with different rejection sensitivity.The results showed that the recognition accuracy of accept-related words was significantly higher than that of rejection words in subjects with low rejection sensitivity;The subjects with high rejection sensitivity had a significantly higher recognition rate of rejection words than those with low rejection sensitivity.However,there was no significant difference between the two groups in remembering acceptance and neutral words,which was reflected that subjects with high rejection sensitivity had memory bias to rejection words.The third study used WASP to explore the interpretive bias of individuals with different rejection sensitivity.The results showed that in the social situation,the approval rate of negative words in the group with high rejection sensitivity was significantly higher than that in the group with low rejection sensitivity,and the approval rate of positive words in the group with low rejection sensitivity was significantly higher than that in the group with high rejection sensitivity.The above results show that: The above results show that:(1)college students with high rejection sensitivity showed attention avoidance to negative faces;(2)Students with low rejection sensitivity have positive memory bias;Compared with students with low rejection sensitivity,students with high rejection sensitivity have negative memory bias.(3)College students with low rejection sensitivity have positive interpretation bias towards fuzzy information in social situations;College students with high rejection sensitivity have negative interpretive bias towards fuzzy information in social situations. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Rejection sensitivity, Memory bias, Attentional bias, Interpretive bias, Cognitive bias | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
