| In the face of increasingly fierce competition for employment, interview faking behavior is becoming more common and frequent. It is a key factor that truly affects interview validity and causes decision-making bias, making it difficult for companies to find the suitable candidates, which has attracted extensive attention among researchers. The current study on interview faking behavior is not comprehensive, mainly focusing on structural dimensions and outcome variables.Few scholars have focused on the influence of negative personality traits such as narcissistic personality and psychological entitlement, thus exploring its internal mechanism is of great significance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of narcissistic personality and psychological entitlement on job seekers’ interview faking behavior and the mediating role of psychological entitlement.Based on the revised psychological entitlement scale, the narcissistic personality inventory, psychological entitlement scale and interview faking scale were used to investigate individuals who had experienced interviews, and 917 valid data were collected for statistical analysis. The main conclusions were as follows:(1)The revised psychological entitlement scale has good reliability and validity.(2)Narcissistic personality and psychological entitlement of applicant positively predict their interview faking behavior.(3)Psychological entitlement mediates the relationship between narcissistic personality and interview faking behavior. This study proposes the following three recommendations on how to identify and prevent interview faking behavior: companies should build a scientific personnel assessment system, create a democratic and equal working environment and create a harmonious and friendly communication atmosphere. |
