Design And Implementation Of Focused Resolution Group Counseling To Improve The Quality Of Friendship And Loneliness Of Second Year Students | | Posted on:2024-07-01 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:W F Zhou | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307118953809 | Subject:Mental health education | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective: To understand the current situation of friendship quality and loneliness among junior high school students,to study the relationship between friendship quality and loneliness,and to explore the effectiveness of friendship quality-focused solution group counseling on improving the friendship quality and loneliness of second-year studentsMethods:Study 1 used a questionnaire to distribute the Friendship Quality Scale and the Loneliness Scale to junior high school students in a Wuhan city to understand the current status of friendship quality and loneliness among junior high school students and their relationships;Study 2 used questionnaire and experimental methods.12 students in the experimental group and 12 students in the control group were selected based on the results of Study 1,and 8 sessions of friendship quality-focused group counselling activities were implemented for the experimental group,while no interventions other than psychological sessions were given to the control group.Post-tests and follow-up tests were administered to the experimental group at the end of the group counselling,and to the control group only.Results:(1)The mean friendship quality score of the second year students was 3.26±0.46,with the lowest score on the dimension of "affirmative value"(3.12±0.62)and the highest score on the dimension of "trust and respect"(3.39±0.55);The average loneliness score was 2.12 ± 0.78,with the highest score on the dimension of "perceived social competence"(2.36±0.92)and the lowest score on the dimension of "unmet social needs"(1.93±0.88).(2)The level of friendship quality negatively predicted the level of loneliness among second-year students.(3)After the implementation of friendship quality-focused group counselling,there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group,with the friendship quality score increasing and the loneliness score decreasing,while there was no significant difference between the post-test and the follow-up test.There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group on the post-test levels.Conclusions:(1)Problems in the quality of friendships and feelings of isolation among second year students,affirmation of self-and other-worth,and low levels of perception of social competence.(2)Second-year students’ friendship quality negatively predicts their loneliness,and improving friendship quality helps reduce loneliness.(3)The focused solution group counselling of "friendship quality" can enhance the friendship quality and improve the loneliness of second year students. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | second year students, focal resolution group counselling, friendship quality, loneliness | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
