Prosocial behavior is the beneficial behavior that individuals make to others or society for altruistic motives. It is an important indicator of individual social adaptability.Various researches on prosocial behavior have been an important topic in psychological research. The level of prosocial behavior of middle school students is not only related to individual physical and mental health and social adaptation, but also affects social harmony and national development.Previous studies have shown that social exclusion has an important impact on pro-social behavior.Social exclusion emerges in an endless stream among middle school students, such as being isolated, rejected and ignored by classmates,to occur at any time and place, and has a certain degree of concealment. The experience of exclusion will cause serious damage to the psychological health of the excluded, induce social pain similar to physical pain, and even make them fall into a state of "social death",It is not conducive to the physical and mental health development of middle school students.Existing theories and studies have found that emotional regulation is an important influencing factor, and through sorting out previous studies,it is found that there is a close relationship between the three. However, for students suffering from social exclusion, the role of emotional regulation ability in triggering middle school students’ prosocial behavior needs further study.Based on this, this study focuses on investigating the impact of social exclusion on the prosocial behavior of middle school students, analyzing the intermediary role of emotional regulation ability, designing emotional group counseling programs, and improving the emotional regulation ability and prosocial level of middle school students. This study is divided into two parts: In the first part,504 middle school students in a middle school were surveyed with the Social Exclusion Scale, the Emotional Regulation Scale and the Pro-social Behavior Scale as measuring tools, and 463 valid questionnaires were finally collected and screened out through descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test,correlation analysis and intermediary analysis,Study the influence of social exclusion on prosocial behavior and the role of emotion regulation ability in it;The second study, based on the first study, developed an intervention plan for the group counseling course, and selected24 subjects, which were divided into the intervention group and the control group, each with12 people. The intervention group participated in the group counseling activities on the theme of emotion for eight weeks and once a week, while the control group carried out activities unrelated to the sub-theme of emotion group, and collected the post-test data for comparative analysis. The results show that:(1)Social exclusion has a significant negative correlation with middle school students’ prosocial behavior.(2)Social exclusion was negatively correlated with emotional regulation.(3)There was a significant positive correlation between emotion regulation ability and prosocial behavior.(4)The ability of emotional regulation plays a part of intermediary role in the relationship between social exclusion and prosocial behavior, with the proportion of intermediary effect being 49.20%.Emotional evaluation and emotional control play a part of intermediary role in the process of rejection’s influence on prosocial behavior of middle school students, with the proportion of intermediary effect being 11.61%and 22.02% respectively. It plays a complete intermediary role in the process of ignoring the influence on prosocial behavior of middle school students.(5)Emotional group counseling can effectively improve the emotional regulation ability of middle school students and increase prosocial behavior by interfering with their emotional regulation ability.Social exclusion will not only directly affect the prosocial behavior of middle school students, but also indirectly affect their prosocial level through the influence on their emotional regulation ability.By improving their emotional regulation ability, they can effectively increase their prosocial behavior level. This study reminds parents and teachers to pay attention to the social exclusion of middle school students and cultivate their emotional adjustment ability.
