A Study Of Rosa Luxemburg’s Ideology Of Historical Materialism

Rosa Luxemburg was a great revolutionist and theorist in the history of the international Communist movement.She was firm in faith,honest and unafraid of sacrifice,and was praised by Lenin as "the real Marxist representative of the proletariat".Rosa Luxemburg did not receive due attention for a long time.With the great changes of world socialism,people began to recognize Luxemburg’s valuable theory and gradually studied her thoughts in depth.However,few people have systematically studied her historical materialism in the existing researches.Therefore,this paper first introduces the background of the formation of Luxembourg’s historical materialism on the basis of domestic and foreign research literature and her own important works,and then sorts out the main content of her historical materialism and discusses Luxembourg’s application of historical materialism.Finally,the theoretical value and practical value of Luxembourg’s historical materialism are summarized.This paper is divided into four parts as follows:The first part mainly introduces the background of the formation of Luxembourg’s historical materialism,the development of the international workers’ movement,the transition from free capitalism to monopoly capitalism and the changes of Germany’s social and political environment.Its theoretical origin is mainly the historical materialism tradition of Marx and Engels and the theoretical tradition of the Polish proletarian Party.The second part discusses the appearance context and development course of Luxembourg’s historical materialism.It mainly probes into the problem consciousness before the formation of Luxembourg’s historical materialism,to see what kind of cognitive basis and language environment she constructed her own ideological system on,and to clarify the development of her historical materialism in various stages.The third part discusses the main content of Luxembourg’s historical materialism.By reconstructing Luxembourg’s criticism of revisionism,opportunism and Blanquism,reconstructing the theoretical collision with Lenin in the construction of socialist democracy,it explores Luxembourg’s theory of spontaneity,mass view,capital accumulation space theory and social revolution theory with individual characteristics.Then the paper expounds Luxembourg’s application of historical materialism in concrete practice.The fourth part discusses the theoretical value and practical value of Luxembourg’s historical materialism,which not only influenced early western Marxism,but also developed Marxist revolutionary thought of socialism and materialist dialectics.It has important enlightenment for us to deal with the relationship between democracy and centralism,and the relationship between the Party and the masses.
