| After the publication of The Warring States Bamboo Slips Collected by Tsinghua University,it has received widespread attention and discussion in the academic community. So far,12 series of collation reports have been published.Among them, the newly published Si Shi(《四时》),Si Sui(《司岁》),Xing Cheng(《行称》)in Tsinghua bamboo manuscripts(X)and Wu Ji(《五纪》)in Tsinghua bamboo manuscripts(XI)belong to the numerology literature in terms of content. This article takes these four texts,a total of 199 slips,as the research object, collects relevant research results, and comprehensively sorts them in the form of collective interpretation, with a view to providing convenience for further research in the future. The introduction part combs the numerology literature of the early Qin and Han dynasties from four aspects: philology, history of the numerology, sociology, and technology. It points out that the research of this type of literature mainly focuses on the three major positions of Qin,Han and Chu bamboo manuscripts.Through comparison with the handed down literature,it attempts to restore the basic appearance of early numerology, and reconstruct the new system of early numerology.Significant achievements have been made in text collation, folk beliefs, early Taoism and history of science, numerology and social life. The collection of annotations is based on the opinions of the Tsinghua Bamboo Manuscripts Collation Group, integrating various viewpoints and new understandings and ideas we have gained during the research process, summarizing and supplementing them.Totally added 121 notes. The perspective of judgment,in the Wu Ji(《五纪》)chapter whether the"四"is read as"四冘(仲)"or"四介"in the slip[19][20];""means"呼"or"号"in the slip[99]and so on,many controversial views have been sorted out, discussed, and determined. In terms of new understanding and ideas,we believe that in the Si Shi(《四时》)chapter the"土龙"in slip[18]does not mean"earth made dragon"or"seeking rain by earth dragon",but rather refers to a kind of astrology, referring to the celestial position of the stars, and"土"refers to the"土"of the five elements. In the Si Sui(《司岁》)chapter the appearance of an ancient name for the planet Jupiter"巟(荒)骆(落)"in slip[47]adds an empirical evidence to the statement that"大亡小为"should be interpreted as"大巟(荒)为"of Si Sui(《司岁》)in The Han Dynasty Bamboo Manuscripts of Kong Jiapo. In the Xing Cheng(《行称》)chapter"少(小)子、徒(卫)、埜(野)(里)人"are three different identities in slip[6][7]."少(小)子"refers to"little boy","徒(卫)"refers to accompanying soldiers, guards, and the like,"埜(野)(里)人"refers to people from afar in the suburbs,"吝于小子、徒卫、野里人"means"little boys, accompanying soldiers, guards, and people in remote suburbs will be in danger, with a sign of self prosperity to misfortune".In addition,in order to facilitate the understanding, analysis, and induction of the meaning of the text, and to clarify the rules and patterns of writing,a total of 35 charts are listed, including 18 self listed tables, such as Tables 1.1,1.5,1.8,2.2,2.4 and 3.1,which are comparative analyses of the font types in text;Tables 1.10,1.11,1.12,2.1,2.3 and 3.2 summarize the text content, astrological system, and astrological operation records.17 other charts were cited, such as Tables 2.5,2.6,4.1,4.5 etc.;Pictures 2.1,3.1,4.1,4.2 etc.help to understand and enrich the meaning of the text and provide reasons for making judgments.Through the work of summarizing various viewpoints, supplementing new understandings and ideas and making charts, try to provide a relatively comprehensive and reliable interpretation text.Research on related issues:First, the focus is on the analysis of the astrological system in Si Shi(《四时》).It can be seen that the astrological coordinates of the zodiac include"四弼、四帑、四冲、四辖、四钩、四维、四关、四目".However,in the actual description of the twelve month astrological movement, there is no"四冲",but there are"四门"and"四勺".The text astrological system differs from the theoretical ones. The first reason is that the astrological system used in the Si Shi(《四时》)chapter is self formed, which is greatly different from the literature handed down, and it is difficult to accurately understand its true meaning. The second reason is that there are many phenomena of derivation, omission, and supplement in this text, reflecting that the scribe is not familiar with the copied content,so there will be many errors in the copying process, this has also caused some difficulties for us to restore the content of the text.Second, after sorting out the terminology related to the astrological movement and the specific weather phenology appearing in the Si Shi(《四时》),it can be seen that they all exhibit certain regularity. In the specific description of the astrology of twelve months, some verbs appear at a relatively fixed time, such as"暆"describing the astrology of the 4th day of each month;"涌"describes the astrology on the 10th day of each month;"发"describes the astrology on the 14th day of each month;both"流"and"滥"describe the astrology on the 17th day of each month;"溢"describes the astrology on the 24th day of each month.Third, this paper discusses the division method of the"二无""六辰"in Si Sui(《司岁》),the setting method of the"六称""合日"in Xing Cheng(《行称》),and the construction of the heaven human system in Wu Ji(《五纪》).This deepens the understanding of the content of the text and attempts to restore some of the original features of the astronomical calendar and the concept of the heaven and man system in the Chu area during the Warring States period. |
