| Xiao Cha is the direct grandson of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty and the direct son of the Prince of Zhaoming. He belongs to an important family member of Xiao Liang according to his lineage, but the official history "Liang Shu" has not been specially published for him.To investigate the reasons, because of his connections with foreign countries and his rejection of foreign affairs,he has always been criticized by historians, and because of the short reign of the late Liang Dynasty, the academic community has not paid enough attention to the late Liang Dynasty and Xiao Yu himself. The first chapter of this article mainly makes a brief summary of Xiao Cha’s family background, life and friends.Xiao Yan,Xiao Yan’s grandfather, was the representative of Qi Jianliang, who made outstanding contributions to the founding of the prosperous era of Xiao Liang. However, because of his dotage in his later years,he also accelerated the demise of the Liang Dynasty.Xiao Tong,Xiao Xuan’s father, was deeply influenced by Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty. His style of conduct was based on his father’s example. He was modest, knowledgeable, and politically talented, but he died young. The brothers of Xiao Yu are united and work together.Xiao Lei’s life can be divided into three stages: the first stage is to save money and make friends with customers, and to teach with kindness; In the second stage,he helped his brother fight against his uncle, which was called the Western Wei Dynasty; In the third stage,Jiangling claimed the title of emperor and ended in gloom.Xiao Yu also made friends with different groups of scholars in different periods, and tried to consolidate his rule. The second chapter gives a brief account of Xiao Yu’s political situation.Xiao Yi was called the vassal state of the Western Wei Dynasty, and the establishment of the Later Liang Dynasty was closely related to Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty’s "abolishment of the emperor and establishment of the commonwealth",as well as the internal structure and personal factors between Xiao Yi and his uncle and nephew. After being called a vassal, although he regarded himself as Xiao Liang orthodox,he had already become a puppet of the Western Wei Dynasty, with a narrow territory and was constantly monitored by the suzerain. The independent forces of the Later Liang Dynasty have also fought for many times, but their national strength is weak, and they have failed to get rid of the control of the Western Wei Dynasty, the Northern Zhou Dynasty and the Sui Dynasty. With the continuous strengthening of the strength of the North Dynasty and the maturity of the time for the reunification of the North and the South, the Houliang was abandoned. The third chapter, from the perspective of Xiao Yu’s literary works, examines his puppet mentality of falling from the royal nobles to the vassal of the enemy at one stroke, and further explores the complex human nature of human beings in the special environment. His Fu,"Min Shi Fu",was written in Jin Luanliang after he was captured and entered the customs. This fu reveals Xiao Yu’s contradictory and helpless psychology as the leader of the Later Liang Dynasty, and describes the depression of a puppet emperor who lives in a different place, from which we can see his special life choice."Fu on Tour of the Seven Mountains Temple" is a tour poem written by Xiao Xuan on the post of the governor of the East Yangzhou, which shows the strong attitude of worshiping Buddha in the Liang Dynasty. There are other literary works,on the one hand, which can help us take full care of the mentality of Xiao Liang’s scholars,on the other hand,it can also spy on Xiao Liang’s literary creation style. The fourth chapter analyzes the character image of Xiao Yu and combs the academic evaluation of him.In addition to the puppet emperor who killed his uncle and betrayed his country,Xiao Yu’s image also has many aspects. On the one hand,Xiao Xuan continued the tradition of Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty advocating Buddhism, believed in Buddhism, had profound Buddhist attainments, and was a pious Buddhist. On the other hand,he is also a ruler who knows people well and is good at their duties.Due to the particularity of the historical position of the Houliang, the academic circles have different opinions on its evaluation. Some scholars not only denied the legitimacy of the Houliang regime, but also criticized Xiao Xuan’s collusion with the Western Wei Dynasty because of his betrayal of the host country and the rejection of foreign nationalities. Some scholars regard the Houliang regime as orthodox and believe that Xiao Yi,as the direct grandson of Emperor Liang Wu,should inherit the throne more than Xiao Yi.Apart from the Houliang regime, this move inadvertently opened the window of communication between Xiao Liang and the Guanzhong Group, paved the way for the Xiao family to integrate into the Guanzhong system, and laid the foundation for the prosperity of the Xiao family in the Sui and Tang dynasties. |
