| Using data-driven methods to teach and research word collocations can make up for the lack of quantitative data support in traditional methods.At the same time,the corpus,as a"storage rehouse"of real language materials,can ensure the authenticity of the language.This paper will adopt the corpus data-driven method,use the CCL corpus as the basic corpus,and use the Sketch Engine corpus as the research tool to study the four dummy verbs of"加以""予以""给以"and"给予".Studying the semantic prosody and the colligation of them.From two levels of quantitative and qualitative study of their collocation rules,and comparative analysis.Hope to draw useful conclusions as supplementary material for teaching and research.At the same time,by analyzing students’errors in the interlanguage corpus,we can understand students’true practice of formal verbs,analyze the main reasons for their errors,and put forward targeted teaching suggestions based on students’errors.And based on the students’biases,taking Sketch Engine as an example to illustrate the application of corpus in the teaching of word collocation.Under theoretical principles of"data-driven learning",the teaching design is made with the results of the research as teaching materials.we found that the four dummy verbs are affected by the serious and solemn style atmosphere,and their semantic orientation is mainly neutral semantic orientation,showing mixed semantic prosody as a whole.From the perspective of the semantic range of prominent collocations,"予以"focuses more on policies,legal documents,etc.,and"加以"has a broader semantic range.Relatively speaking,the semantic atmosphere of the words予以"and"加以"are more serious.The words"给以"and"给予"are relatively more common and easy.From the point of view of the sentence,with several key positions,there are different types of colligation forms with different topics.From the perspective of teaching,in the process of acquisition,students have different types of errors due to differences in language systems,generalization of common verb rules,and avoidance strategies.Therefore,we use corpus tools to design specific teaching steps,hoping to explore more effective teaching and learning methods for such abstract words. |
