A Study Of Dialectal Toponym Words In Xihe County

Xihe County is located in the south of the West Qinling Mountains,the upper reaches of the Western Han River in the Yangtze River Basin.The complex topography and unique regional culture have created the unique dialect and place names of Xihe County,but the research results of the place names of Xihe County are few.In order to give Xihe county place names in language and culture research,this paper in the previous Xihe county place names and Xihe county dialect,on the basis of research,the investigation method,statistical method,description method,select Xihe county 16 town 4 township 2633 dialect nouns as the research object,from the perspective of dialect,place names and culture,Xihe county dialect and noun pronunciation features and naming,trying to,and the word reveals the relationship between place names and regional culture,digging Xihe county dialect noun cultural connotation,in order to provide reference for Xihe county geographical names and linguistics research.This paper mainly uses the investigation method,statistical method,description method and comparative method to study the terms of Xihe county systematically.At the beginning of the discussion,the general situation of Xihe County,the current status and significance of place names are briefly introduced.The main part is divided into four aspects to study the dialect nouns in Xihe County:First,the phonology of Xihe dialect is summarized.Xihe dialect has 33 initials,34 finals and 4 monosyllabic tones.In addition to the original 4 monosyllabic tones,a new22 tone has been added.There are a total of 13 rhymes in the ground nouns;In terms of syllabic structure,two-syllable and three-syllable nouns dominate.In terms of level and oblique collocation,the level and oblique patterns are mainly used.Secondly,in terms of general name and proper name,two kinds of general name referring to physical geographical entity and human geographical entity are sorted out according to data statistics,and the general name referring to human geographical entity in Xihe dialect is found.By summarizing the characteristics of proper names and analyzing the way of word formation,it is found that among the local nouns in Xihe County dialect,the nouns are mainly used as proper names,while the synthetic words are the main ones."Proper name + general name" type place name is the most common structural type of place name in Xihe dialect.Third,the naming motivation,the dialect nouns named according to the natural geographical elements of Xihe County reflect the complex landform,water system and river features and rich natural resources of Xihe County;The vernacular nouns named according to the elements of human geography show the historical culture and folk customs behind the place names.Fourth,in terms of characters,there are unique dialect characters such as "ya huo" and "diao" in Xihe County dialect.This paper analyzes this kind of special phenomenon in order to provide a reference for the subsequent work of place names.
