This paper uses the theory of lexical-functional grammar to investigate the specific interrogative sentences in Longtou Tujia language. The interrogative sentence is a kind of sentence that is divided from the communicative function, and the special interrogative sentence is a subtype of the interrogative sentence according to the structural form, which are used for inquiry in function and have interrogative pronouns in structure. The interrogative pronoun hasn’t inquiry function that just with the specific interrogative sentence,in other words,it is only the performance characteristics of interrogative sentences. In the previous research achievements of Tujia interrogative sentences, they mostly used Chinese syntax theory for reference to make a general classification description of them, which lacks of in-depth research on the relationship between syntactic components and syntax. This paper studies the specific questions in Longtou Tujia language on the basis of previous studies, which guided by the theory of lexicalfunctional grammar. There are 6 chapters in this paper, and the contents of each chapter are as follows:Part one is the introduction. It mainly describes the reason for choosing the topic, the current research situation at home and abroad, the theoretical basis used in the paper. The content, method and significance of the research,as well as the innovation and corpus sources of the paper.Part two discusses the definition and classification of specific interrogative sentences in Longtou Tujia language.Firstly, define the specific interrogative sentence in the Tujia language of Longtou. The specific interrogative sentence is to ask something about specific unknown points, which are used as interrogative markers, mainly in the form of a??so21 "Who",khai21 ti?? "What",t?hian3? "How" and other interrogative pronouns.Secondly, through the 12 ontological meanings put forward by Sheng Yimin from the perspective of cross-language,the interrogative pronouns in Tujia language are investigated and combined with their forms. The interrogative pronouns in Longtou Tujia language are divided into six categories, such as asking people, things, places, reasons, ways, quantity and time.According to the unique linguistic phenomenon of Longtou Tujia language, the interrogative pronoun marks are divided,so as to show the basic formal characteristics of the specific interrogative sentences.Part three describes the linguistic phenomenon of multiple interrogative pronouns co-occurrence in the specific interrogative sentences in Longtou Tujia language.Firstly, this paper examines the research status of multiple interrogative pronoun co-occurrence from the perspective of cross-language.Due to the relatively general description in China,we attempt to make a more systematic description of Tujia language in the chapter.Secondly,it classifies and describes the overlapping phenomenon of interrogative pronouns with the same category and form(that is,the overlapping phenomenon of homomorphic interrogative pronouns of the same kind)and the co-occurrence phenomenon of interrogative pronouns of different categories(that is,the co-occurrence of different interrogative pronouns).Different interrogative pronouns occur at the same time, such as khai21 tshai?? ka?? lu?21 ?ie3?,where is the place khai21 tshai?? "where" and "how many" can appear in the same single sentence. Finally,we investigate the common language from the synchronic point of view, such as southwest mandarin and Tibeto-Burman language, and we find that the overlapping and cooccurrence of interrogative pronouns are unique language phenomena in some languages of Tibeto-Burman language family.Part four examines the non-interrogative expression of the form of the interrogative sentence in Tujia language, that is the single sentence contains specific interrogative pronouns in the form, but does not have the interrogative function. The phenomenon in Chinese is different from English, and it is more common in Tujia language.Chinese has in-depth research in this field, but it mainly focuses on non-quantitative interrogative pronouns such as "who","how" and "what",and rarely on quantitative interrogative pronouns such as "what" and "how many".Therefore, this chapter mainly draws lessons from the system of Chinese language research. For the situation of arbitrary reference, empty reference and rhetorical question of non-quantitative interrogative pronouns in Tujia language. The usage of quantitative interrogative pronouns such as "what" and the co-occurrence of multiple interrogative pronouns are classified and described. This reverse shows that interrogative function is realized in syntactic function rather than lexical function.Part five uses lexical-functional grammar framework to analyze the specific questions in Tujia language. The way is a formal grammar theory developed from transformational generative grammar. This chapter analyzes the form of Tujia interrogative sentences according to the combination rule of "word-phrase-sentence".Tujia interrogative pronouns always have the attribute of focus(FOCUS)in the thesaurus, and their attribute values are expressed as pronouns(↑PRED)= "PRO" and unknown parameters(↑PARAM)=Y.The interrogative function of interrogative sentences appears at the end of a single sentence with interrogative operators, and the interrogative operators and the interrogative pronouns as focal points are the same.Combined with the mapping relationship between component structure and functional structure in lexical functional grammar, the basic form, overlapping form and the form of multiple interrogative pronouns co-occurrence of specific interrogative sentences in Longtou Tujia language are formally analyzed through syntax tree and matrix diagram,so as to demonstrate the component and function of interrogative pronouns in specific interrogative sentences.Part six is summary. At the same time,it points out the shortcomings of the paper and the direction of future efforts.
