The Use Of Huashan Rock Paintings In Digital Picture Books For Children’s Art Enlightenment

The Huashan Rock Paintings are a cultural treasure reflecting the religious beliefs and aesthetic thoughts of the Zhuang ancestors,and are the only rock painting group in China to be included in the World Heritage List.Digital picture books use digital technology to display the images and cultural values of Huashan Rock Paintings through animated videos,soundtracks and game experiences,which are incomparable to other digital products.This paper is motivated by the similarity between Huashan rock paintings and children’s paintings in terms of pictorial expression,and how digital picture books can be used to communicate the aesthetic values of Huashan rock paintings to children.This paper firstly adopts a literature research method to review Huashan rock paintings,children’s art enlightenment and digital picture books,and defines the research object and research method of this paper.Secondly,through questionnaire surveys,user studies and case studies,the current status of the application of Huashan rock painting digital products and the use of children’s art enlightenment digital picture books were investigated.The aims were:(1)to explore the application of Huashan rock painting digital products and the problems that exist;(2)to understand the current awareness and feelings of parents and children about the use of art enlightenment digital picture books and to identify the problems that exist in art enlightenment digital picture books;(3)to summarise children’s art enlightenment needs by comparing children’s drawings and observing children’s drawing behaviour.Again,by combining the art enlightenment needs,four visual design techniques such as digital collage,pattern decoration,colour matching and motion design are summarised,and by exploring the visual elements of children’s art enlightenment in Huashan rock paintings,further design objectives and principles are proposed regarding Huashan rock painting children’s art enlightenment digital picture books.Finally,it proposes specific design strategies for the use of Huashan rock paintings in children’s art enrichment digital picture books from four levels:story,visual,animation and interaction.This project summarises the design ideas and methods of the visual elements of Huashan rock paintings in children’s art and art enrichment digital picture books,exploring and enriching the digital application of Huashan rock paintings,and providing theoretical and practical references for the creation of rock painting digital picture books.
