Research purpose: With the rapid development of Latin dance in China, the technical movements of children’s Latin dance have been upgraded,so much so that higher requirements have been put forward for their classroom teaching.Soft ladder training,as an emerging physical training method,is simple and easy to implement with various forms of training. The use of soft ladder training in Latin dance classes can improve children’s physical quality and promote the improvement of their Latin dance technical skills, while soft ladder training is fun and flexible, which can well stimulate children’s interest in learning and thus better improve the classroom effect.Based on the physical and mental development characteristics of Latin dance students aged 10-11 years old and the special technical characteristics of Latin dance, this study combined with soft ladder training to develop a Latin dance teaching plan and teaching program that fit their age,to investigate whether soft ladder training can improve children’s physical quality, technical ability and learning interest,so as to further improve the teaching effect of children’s Latin dance classroom.Research method: This study firstly used the interview method to determine the training program and technical skill scoring index, and the Delphi method to determine the training content and testing index of this study.Secondly,we selected 10-11-yearold children from Jinan Xiaoyi Art Training School as the experimental subjects, and set up an experimental group and a control group of 15 students each to conduct a 16-week teaching experiment. In this study, the experimental group added soft ladder training sessions, and the training time was kept at 15-20 minutes per session, while the control group arranged regular physical quality training content. At the end of the experiment, repeated measures ANOVA was conducted on the learning interest, physical fitness and technical skills test scores of the students in the experimental and control groups before and after the experiment, respectively. Results: 1.After 16 weeks of teaching experiment, the experimental group compared with the control group showed significant differences in the 30 s cowboy bouncing kick(p=0.045<0.05),5m three-way round trip run(p=0.010<0.05),10 s cross quadrant jump(p=0.033<0.05)and 30 s fancy New York step(p=0.000<0.05)showed significant differences in all four indexes.2.The experimental group and the control group showed significant differences in the technical skills of posture(p=0.029<0.05),foot movements(p=0.008<0.05),Latin movements(p=0.003<0.05)and insulation and coordination(p=0.003<0.05)all four subordinate indicators showed significant differences;there was a significant difference in the rhythm of musical interpretation(p=0.035<0.05).The experimental group and the control group showed significant differences in the technical skills of posture(p=0.005<0.05),balance(p=0.014<0.05),foot movements(p=0.014<0.05),body movements(p=0.005<0.05),Latin movements(p=0.008<0.05)and insulation and coordination(p=0.002<0.05)six subordinate indicators showed significant differences;there was a significant difference between choreography and demonstrated energy use(p=0.001<0.05).3.After the experiment, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the test of interest in learning(p=0.000<0.05).Research conclusions: 1.After 16 weeks of experiment, the students in the experimental group showed significant improvement in the three physical qualities of speed strength, speed endurance and sensitivity and coordination, while the students in the control group also showed some degree of improvement in the above three aspects, but the improvement was relatively small compared with the experimental group. The above results show that the soft ladder training has a positive effect on improving the speed strength, speed endurance, sensitivity and coordination of children.2.After the soft ladder training, the students in the experimental group had a significant increase in the rating elements of Latin dance level 5 rumba combination and cha cha cha cha combination;the students in the control group did not show a significant increase in the rating elements of technical skills after the regular training. This shows that the soft ladder training has a positive effect on improving the technical skills of Latin dance.3.After the experimental data, the learning interest of the experimental group showed a significant increase, while the learning interest of the control group did not show a significant increase. Thus,it can be concluded that soft ladder training can effectively enhance children’s interest in learning Latin dance and is more conducive to mobilizing students’ learning enthusiasm.4.By analyzing the data of students’ physical quality, technical skills and learning interest after the experiment, the two groups of students showed significant differences in the data results of physical quality, technical skills and learning interest, which indicates that soft ladder training is more effective in enhancing students’ physical quality, technical skills and learning interest,This shows that the effect of soft ladder training on enhancing students’ physical quality, technical skills and learning interest is better than that of regular training, which proves that soft ladder training plays a certain role in improving the effect of Latin dance class for 10-11 year olds.
