A Study Of The Controversy About "Modern Transformation Of Ancient Chinese Literary Theory"

The controversy over the "Modern Transformation of Ancient Chinese Literary Theory" focuses on three focal issues in the controversy.They are: what is "Transformation" ? can the "Transformation" be made? and how should the "Transformation" be implemented? To discuss how to integrate the traditional Chinese literary theory into the modern literary theory discourse,establish a Chinese literary theoretical discourse with Chinese characteristics,Chinese style and Chinese style.This paper takes the modern transformation theory of ancient Chinese literary theory in nearly 30 years as the research object,and historically sorts out the research data related to this controversy.According to the chronological order,the main views of the academic circle,trying to restore the academic history of this major controversy,this paper explores the historical and cultural context of the controversy,and reflects on the deep problems behind the controversy.The paper introduces the study in the following three chaptersChapter one: Tracing the proposition of "modern transformation of ancient Chinese literary theory",tease apart its development journey and reveal the historical and cultural context.From the perspective of social external environment,the emergence of controversy is related to the marginalization of literature brought by market economy.From the perspective of the internal environment of the academic circle,it is actually put forward to cope with the impact of western literary theory and the needs of the development of modern literary theory.At the same time,the history of contention is divided into four stages: brewing phase,rising phase,development phase and deepening phase,and the main content and development of contention in each period are briefly summarized.Finally,a brief analysis of the characteristics of the controversy.Chapter two: Summarizes the key issues in the controversy of "modern transformation of ancient Chinese literary theory",focuses on the three talking point of what is"Transformation"?,can the "Transformation" be made? and how should the "Transformation"be implemented? ",and analyzes the articles involving the theory of controversy since 1996.In fact,the study of ancient Chinese literary theory needs to give consideration to "seeking truth" and "seeking change".The modern transformation of ancient Chinese literary theory is also an indispensable link in the process of modernization transformation of Chinese literary theory.In addition,modern transformation can not be completed in a moment,but needs to be completed on the basis of existing research.Chapter three: Rethinking the Significance and Enlightenment of the controversy of "The Modern Transformation of Ancient Chinese Literary Theory".Firstly,starting from the transformation from the ancient literary theory to the modern literary theory and its continuation,in light of the change of the historical context,the replacement of the classical Chinese by the vernacular Chinese,and the transformation from the criticism to poems and proses into the narrative stylistic criticism,the author expounds that there are both transformation and inheritance between the ancient literary theory and the modern literary theory.Secondly,based on the heterogeneity and dialogism of the Chinese and western literary theories,it is pointed out that there are some commonalities and rules among different literary theories.Different literary theoretical discourses can communicate with each other and complement each other in the collision,thus further giving birth to new literary theories.
