Nowadays,distance learning is becoming more and more widely used in the field of international Chinese language education,and "interaction" is an important factor that directly affects the effectiveness of teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.Interaction is therefore a key factor in the design of distance Chinese learning.The increasingly diverse functions of online teaching platforms provide technical support for the development of interactive distance learning.Basing on constructivism,distance learning interaction theory and the input hypothesis as theoretical guides,this article uses classroom observation,questionnaires and interviews as research methods to design and apply interactive distance learning to a classroom practice at Palawan Hope Christian School,Philippines,to explore its significance and value from both theoretical and practical aspects.The Improved Flanders Interaction Analysis System(i FIAS)is applied to record the teacher-student interaction process in the classroom realistically and objectively and to analyse the teaching interaction.The results of the analysis found that,1.In terms of classroom teaching style,teachers tend to exert indirect influence on students,and tend to use positive language to praise and encourage students;2.In terms of teacher-student emotional climate,teachers and students have a cordial emotional climate,students’ verbal behaviour is reflected for a longer period of time,and verbal practice is more consistent;3.In terms of classroom interaction structure,the proportion of teacher language is lower than the norm,and the proportion of student language is close to the norm.In terms of the structure of classroom interaction,the proportion of teacher language was lower than the norm and the proportion of student language was close to the norm,indicating good teacher-student verbal interaction behaviour;4.In terms of the analysis of teacher-student interaction in terms of question and answer interaction,there was a tendency towards an innovative inquiry-based classroom.After that,the teachers and the online teaching platform were evaluated using questionnaires and interviews;finally,the teaching design of the interactive distance learning was reflected on and pedagogical insights were put forward to provide some reference for the subsequent research.
