| Collaborative writing is a way to apply collaborative learning in English writing teaching.Many scholars have carried out research on the collaborative writing from different perspectives,including theoretical research,empirical research,and research on its application effect.However,they mainly focus on the qualitative research,and they mainly take the grade of student’ English composition as the only measurement metric.And they take the senior high school students and university students as the main research objects.Therefore,based on the theories of constructivism and collaborative learning,this study conducted a three-month collaborative writing teaching experiment with the students in two Eighth grades of a junior middle school in Yi Chang.Among them,class 802 is the control class,which adopts individual writing teaching mode.And class 803 is the experimental class,which adopts collaborative writing for writing teaching.All of these are to explore the impact of collaborative writing teaching methods on junior middle school students’ composition grades,the effects on complexity and accuracy of their compositions,and the attitude of students towards collaborative writing.Research findings: 1)collaborative writing can effectively improve students’ English writing grades.2)collaborative writing can effectively improve the accuracy of students’ English composition,but it can’t improve the complexity of their composition.ability and phrase recognition ability.3)collaborative writing is recognized and welcomed by students.Most students said the collaborative writing can not only activate their interest in English learning and improve their English writing level,but also improve their interpersonal skills.Based on the research results,this paper holds that teachers should make full use of the collaborative learning in their English teaching,try more different ways to organize collaborative learning class and rich this teaching method with more innovation;attach full importance to the mutual communication in the students: building one kind of relaxed friendly classroom atmosphere can stimulate students’ interest and confidence in English writing;What’s more,teachers should pay more attention to the self check and peer assessment in the cooperative learning class,and get students involved in the class actively. |
