A Report On The Translation Of Artificial Intelligence For Information Management: A Healthcare Perspective(Chapter 2)

It is a report on English-Chinese translation.The source text of the translation project is the second chapter of Artificial Intelligence for Information Management: A Healthcare Perspective and the chapter is titled “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence”.With the development of artificial intelligence and healthcare,artificial intelligence plays a more and more important role in improving healthcare.Therefore,in order to further boost their development,it is important to learn more about the information of them.This translation report focuses on the translation difficulties of technical terms,polysemous words as well as complex sentences and the corresponding solutions.The translator chooses Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory to help with the translation.Under the guidance of the communicative translation theory,the translator applies the following translation methods based on the translation difficulties.First,in the process of translating the technical terms,the translator uses omission and amplification.Second,in the process of translating the polysemous words,the translator uses explicitation.Third,in the process of translating the complex sentences,the translator uses division and omission.It is believed that this translation report will give reference for the related translation practices.
