| In the information age,the scale of China’s cloud computing market continues to expand,and the blockchain technology used to solve cloud computing security issues is also continuously improving.Currently,“cloud computing+blockchain” has become a new type of competitive track that people from all walks of life pay high attention to.The translation material selected for this practice report is a paper published in the top international journal ACM Computing Surveys in the computer field,entitled “Integrated Blockchain and Cloud Computing Systems: A Systematic Survey,Solutions,and Challenges”.This paper summarizes the current development status of cloud computing and blockchain technology,and proposes three integration modes of blockchain and cloud computing,which belongs to typical scientific and technological texts.Scientific and technological texts have the characteristics of conveying information and reflecting objective facts.Therefore,the author selects Vermeer’s skopos theory as the guiding theory in the translation process,strictly following the skopos principle,the faithfulness principle,and the coherence principle.Combining specific cases,the author explores the translation skills of scientific and technological texts from three levels: word,sentence,and discourse,so as to present the information the author wants to convey and the effect obtained by the original readers to the target readers,and clear up the reading obstacles for the readers.The author finds that at the lexical level,translation can be made smoother and more faithful to the original text through methods such as part-of-speech conversion,word meaning extension,and attributives reordering;at the sentence level,methods such as voice conversion,long sentence segmentation,and sentences recomposing can be used to make the translation more consistent with the expression habits of the target reader,thereby improving the readability of the translation;at the discourse level,methods such as repetition and cohesive words adding can be used to strengthen the logical relationship of the original text,thereby improving the coherence of the translation.This report aims to explore target reader oriented strategies for translating scientific and technological texts through the translation and introduction of foreign cloud computing technology materials.Through this translation practice,the author not only introduces the latest research achievements in the field of international cloud computing and blockchain to domestic professionals,providing the most cutting-edge academic guidance for the comprehensive development of cloud computing and blockchain technology,but also proves the feasibility of skopos theory as a guiding theory for the translation of scientific texts,and summarizes the translation strategies of scientific texts,which has important reference value for the future translation practice of scientific texts and the translation work of other translators. |
