Reproduction,as a primitive and instinctive physiological activity of human beings, has been one of the important themes of expression in literary works from ancient times to the present. In the new era,the complex and changeable background of the times and the open and diverse creative environment make reproductive narratives have a freer expression context and a broader writing space.Mo Yan has become the master of reproductive narratives with many works such as "Milk and Fat Buttocks","Frog","Autumn Water","Herbivore Family" and so on;At the same time,a group of senior writers of the older generation of the post-40 s and post-50 s,mainly Chen Zhongshi,Jia Pingwa,Yan Lianke,Tie Ning,Yan Geling, etc.,worked hard and innovated reproductive narratives, and novels such as "White Deer Plain","Polar Flower","Daylight Flowing Year","Rose Gate" and "Little Aunt Duohe" came out one after another;A group of post-60 s and post-70 s literary stalwarts writers, mainly Qiao Ye,Ge Liang,Sheng Keyi,Ge Shuiping, etc.,have carried out new ideological explorations and formal experiments on reproductive narratives, and new novels such as "Confession","Suzaku","Resting Soil" and "Naked Land" have been continuously born and have an important impact. At present, reproductive narratives have shown the phenomenon of "a hundred flowers blooming".At the important historical juncture of fully liberalizing the two-child policy and promoting the three-child policy, reproductive issues have become a hot topic of social discussion. With the increase in the number of writers’ works and the maturity of their creations,as well as the continuous voices of critics, the study of the topic of reproductive narrative in literary works urgently needs more comprehensive multi-dimensional attention and more comprehensive in-depth discussion. This thesis aims to find out the novels on reproductive narrative in contemporary Chinese literature in the new period,no longer only based on the works of Mo Yan,Xiao Hong,Yan Geling and other writers, but a comprehensive research system including new works by new writers such as Qiao Ye,Sheng Keyi, and Ge Shuiping, and explains the writing objects, construction strategies, and subject values of reproductive narratives as a whole by combing the works of relevant writers, showing the deep significance of reproductive narratives in revealing human nature, ethics, culture and other aspects. This paper is mainly discussed from four parts:In the introduction part, the author combs the related works of reproductive narrative in the order from ancient times to the present, focuses on the analysis of novels after the new period, defines the meaning of reproductive narrative on the basis of macro generalization and comprehensive concision, and expounds the necessity of research. The first chapter focuses on fertility worship. The reproductive narrative unfolds the narrative framework with "reproduction" as the center, and the reason why people want to "reproduce" comes from the admiration and pursuit of life creation, and its root is a spiritual force, that is,reproductive worship.Starting from the four levels of individual, family, race and society, this chapter analyzes and interprets the spirit of fertility worship condensed behind the reproductive narrative in different dimensions. The second chapter focuses on reproductive trauma.Reproductive behavior itself is deeply traumatic.Whether it is physical suffering, psychological burden or mental torture, reproductive narrative has been marked with deep trauma. This paper analyzes from the aspects of childbirth, abortion, childlessness and the unspeakable pain of ethics. The third chapter mainly discusses reproductive reflection. With the help of the internal discourse structure of the text, reproductive narrative digs deeply and analyzes the symptoms of The Times, boldly focuses on and magnifies social phenomena, and deeply examines and exposes history, culture, and human nature. It includes the criticism of the traditional concept of "staying behind",the examination of the phenomenon of "male absence",and the analysis of the process of female self-consciousness awakening. If the reproductive narrative is compared to a "towering tree",the reproductive worship mentioned in the first chapter is the root part, the reproductive trauma analyzed in the second chapter is the branch part, and the reproductive reflection in the third chapter is the fruit part.
