A Study On "Youth Problem" In Liu Xinwu’s Novels In The 1980s

In the development of literature in the new period,Liu Xinwu is a writer of great significance.He became famous in the contemporary Chinese literary scene with Class Teacher,published in People’s Literature at the end of 1977,and also became a highprofile young writer at that time.In the following creative years,the peak period of Liu Xinwu’s novel creation was mainly concentrated in the 80 s and 90 s of the 20 th century.Among them,works such as The Location of Love,Wake Up Brother,Bell and Drum Tower and other works have also caused "phenomenal" discussions in the academic circles several times.Youth problem are the scope of sociological concern,but in literary works,youth groups are also an important existence that cannot be ignored.They often represent the future and hope of a country.But as far as youth themselves are concerned,they are still immature individuals.For society in a special era,the shaping of young people always has distinctive characteristics of the times.Beginning with Liu Xinwu’s Class Teacher,many of his fiction works focus on young people.Similarly,Liu Xinwu’s personal youth experience has influenced his conception of youth groups and is reflected in his works.Through the analysis of the image of "troubled youth" in Liu Xinwu’s novel,we can link the social situation at that time,so as to see the connection and contradiction between the "youth Problem " and social development from a literary perspective.By analyzing the intergenerational relationship between Liu Xinwu and inheriting the upper and lower levels in the literature of the new period,he explores how the problem of way out,enlightenment,education,etc.in the youth problem arises and responds to social changes.At the same time,there are inevitable limitations in Liu Xinwu’s creation.Although it is efficient to use young characters as obvious characteristics or problems to highlight the core of the novel’s problems,it will also lead to the one-sided portrayal of young people and youth issues.Class Teacher opened the writing of the discourse of enlightenment in the eighties,but in the face of the complex situation of youth in society in the late eighties,the role of enlightenment gradually failed.The absence of a static social situation is also a reminder of our attitude towards youth issues.
