| Mu Dan is regarded as an "explorer" of Chinese modernist poetry, representing an important period of Chinese new poetry that cannot be ignored.Throughout the poet’s life,Mu Dan persevered in the real suffering with keen self-experience,and expressed his observation and thinking beyond The Times through his poems. The images under the poet’s pen are complex and rich, the language is new and twists and turns, and the poetic landscape flows with steep steep metaphysical thoughts.Among them, the strong spatial character is an important aspect of the poet’s creation, and the poems everywhere show the spatial characteristics of contradiction and heterogeneity and dialectical integration. However, there are few researches on space in Mu Dan’s poems.Researchers rarely observe Mu Dan as a whole, and pay less attention to his spatial experience, spatial consciousness and construction of spatial writing. Therefore, this paper takes the "spatiality" in Mu Dan’s poems as the research object. On the basis of close reading of the text, referring to Bashara’s house space and Foucault’s power space and other theoretical criticisms,it sort out the spatial context of the poet’s realistic living situation, and makes an in-depth analysis of the spatial image and the spatiality of language structure in poetry. This paper further explores the inner cognition and spiritual transcendence of poetry within the space system and attempts to investigate the special significance of poets in the space writing pedigrees of Chinese new poetry. The main issues discussed in this paper are as follows: First of all, tracable life experience is the cornerstone and background of space writing. In Chapter one, following the space experience and space state in the poet’s real life, two groups of space forms are extracted, namely the open and flowing "road" and the closed and static "house",showing the relative relationship between the poet drifting and searching on the "road" and being trapped and fixed in the "house".This kind of realistic experience strengthens the poet’s concrete perception of space, and the tortuous life path also reflects the dynamic thinking in the poetry creation. The second chapter discusses the two parts of poetic image and poetic language. The spatial image under the poet’s pen is divided into three categories: natural space, social space and spiritual space, and the language space is divided into two aspects: vocabulary and sentence pattern.Combined with specific poetic texts, this chapter analyzes the spatial characteristics of Mu Dan’s poems in the representation of images and language system and the changes in the early and late periods, and has an insight into the poet’s gradual construction of modern characteristics under the breakthrough of poetic art space. The third chapter holds that the spatiality of Mu Dan’s poems is more reflected in his inner spatial consciousness. The poet makes good use of the forms of space-time juxosition and space-time circulation to express the cognition of time and space under the individual life experience. He is especially good at creating spatial contradictions, and unfolds the perspective of various dimensions in juxosition, circulation, mutual fighting and dialectics. This paper probes into the individual remodeling mode of his poetic space, and holds that it is in the "negative dialectics" that the poet finally reaches the transcendence of thought and spirit. |
