Research On Lü Zuqian's "Key To Ancient Chinese Literature

As a form of criticism with Chinese national characteristics,commentaries have unique research value and lack attention to a certain extent.In particular,the field of prose criticism is relatively weak compared with poetry,novel,and opera criticism.Guwenguanjian is an anthologies by ancient literature critic Lv Zuqian,in the Southern Song Dynasty.It is known as the first anthology of ancient China which has important academic value about the characteristics of the commentary,grammar theory and essays ideology in the history of criticism.Lv Zuqian’s thoughts are very diverse,as a prestigious literature,studied under Lin Zhiqi,Wang Yingchen,Hu Xian and other predecessors,established a profound foundation of theoretical thought.He had close contacts with Zhu Xi,Zhang Shi,Lu Jiuyuan and others,communicated academic views and learned from the strengths of various schools,so he was both inclusive and unique in the writing of Guwenguanjian.The selection of Tang and Song Dynasty ancient essays influenced by Taoism,which has touched on the issue of the typical process of the eight great masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties;The arrangement fully considers the difficulty of beginners and adopts the method of theory first,and essay evaluation later;The combination of “ commentary” and “point” was adopted in writing,and are mature set of evaluation style was established,which became the basic mode of evaluation and selection of later Southern Song Dynasty.Starting from the evaluation method,it is clear that the characteristics of Guwenguanjian’s evaluation are reflected in three aspects: first,the highlights include specific “wenge” and critical learning contents;Second,the way of thinking accompanied by the text is concrete and abstract combined;The third purpose is grammatical analysis,which focuses on criticizing the ideas of ancient writing from The method of using words,sentence,and article structure.From the perspective of article studies,the commentary of Guwenguanjian is easily regarded as a narrow and one-sided guidance for ancient writing techniques,but in fact,its content is a comprehensive embodiment of Lv Zuqian’ s profound thoughts on the application of the world and the prose theory of “ taking classical writing methods as the way”.In addition,the above content can be combined to solve two problems:first,what role does Lv Zuqian play in promoting the classicization of the prose of the“ Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties”;The second is why Guwenguanjian praised Wang Anshi in the general commentary,but did not select and evaluate his article.Finally,from the perspective of creative practice,the dissociation between Lv Zuqian’s personal creative practice and the ancient essays theory in the commentary of Guwenguanjian cannot be ignored.Taking “ Zuozhuanboyi” as the point to find that his personal creation,especially the content emphasized and the grammar theory of Guwenguanjian,is highly cons99 istent,which also proves that Lv Zuqian’ s critical thinking is consistent from theory to practice.The various aspects involved in the form and content make Lv Zuqian’ s Guwenguanjian has a crucial impact on the development of essay criticism during the Southern Song Dynasty and later generations.
