Nowadays, the localization translation market is flourishing, and against the background of increasingly frequent exchanges between Chinese and foreign communities, most academic research on localized translation and localization translators has remained at the level of textual studies, comparing the quality of translations through the perspective of linguistic translation studies, but few have looked at the translation behaviour of localization translators from the perspective of cultural and sociological theories.Translation scholars O’Hagan and Mangiron(2013)argue that more translation research theories should be applied to localized translation Studies. Therefore, the paper combines the theoretical findings of Bourdieu’s famous Field Theory in 1997 with empirical research as a method to investigate the political, economic and cultural influences on localized translators in the translation process within a specific translation field, and to gain insight into the differences in translations and analyse the causes behind them. The paper finds that in the process of localization, the political, economic and cultural fields exert influence on translators in a particular translation field, and that the influence of the three fields gives expression to certain distinctions, specifically in the textual form of the translation, the selection of the target language vocabulary and the translator’s choices of translation strategies.
