| In simultaneous interpreting,in order to pursue efficient interpretation,interpreters are required to deliver interpretation in a short and concise way.A large amount of redundancies will reduce the fluency of the interpretation and make audiences confused or impatient.This is a case study based on one mock conference about mateverse.In this case,there were a large amount of redundancies in author’s Korean-to-Chinese simultaneous interpreting,which reduces the quality of the interpretation.Therefore,based on this mock conference,this dissertation classifies the phenomenon of redundancies in the interpretation,analyzes its main causes and puts forward specific strategies which may help the author to improve the quality of interpretation and provide references for other interpreters with the same problem.Based on the theories and case studies of other scholars and professional interpreters,the author explores the concept of redundancy and the classification of it in translation and interpretation field.Then the author categorizes three different types of redundancy appearing in this interpreting,which including self-correction,repeated expressions and meaningless excessive fillers.After that,the author points out the four main causes behind them and finally,the author puts forward four corresponding strategies,which may help student interpreters to overcome excessive redundancy in their interpretation. |
