The Evolution Of The Role Image In The Myth Of Journey To The West And Its Application In Sculpture

Journey to the West is a well-known mythological classic.Its wonderful twists and turns,characters with different personalities and unrestrained imagination have attracted countless readers and influenced generation after generation.Based on the significance and value of the myth of the Journey to the West,this paper reviews the development of the myth of the Journey to the West and its related arts,and discusses the possibilities of the combination of the myth of the journey to the West and sculpture,as well as the creation and application of personal sculpture works.The first part starts with the characteristics of the western journey mythology,and expounds the unique value of the western journey culture according to its magic and reality.The second part takes Sun Wukong,the representative role of the myth of Western You,as an example,summarizes the similarities and differences of the image of Sun Wukong in different art categories,analyzes the specific causes of the image of the role,uphols the principle of sublation,and finds out the advantages suitable for sculpture creation.The third part,starting with the sculpture with Sun Wukong as the creation subject,further explores the efforts made by predecessors in the sculpture works with the theme of Sun Wukong,summarizes the sculpture characteristics and material properties of the myth of the Journey to the West theme,and establishes the theoretical basis for sculpture creation.Finally,combined with my own sculpture creation experience,this paper discusses how to innovate in the shape and materials of the Western Journey mythological theme sculpture,so as to better promote the western journey culture.
