The Application Of Traditional Chisel Carving In Contemporary Metal Relief

Traditional chisel carving is a unique art form that takes advantage of the ductility of metal itself.In the history of metal decoration,traditional chisel carving has its unique aesthetic characteristics in terms of craftsmanship,shape and decoration,and has a unique artistic status.It is also an important part of traditional Chinese handicrafts.Metal relief,as a branch of relief murals in terms of material selection,also uses the ductility of metal to make it unique.The application of traditional chisel carving technology in contemporary metal relief design can inherit and develop traditional handicraft skills on the basis of metal relief.By sorting out the historical background of traditional chisel carving technology,understanding the core of traditional chisel carving,absorbing its essence,exploring the combination of chisel carving technology and contemporary metal relief in creation,and discussing the feasibility of applying chisel carving technology to contemporary metal relief.Finally,integrate the research results of traditional chisel carving techniques and contemporary metal reliefs with my own graduation creation ideas,and apply them to the design of graduation works.On the one hand,it is a tribute to traditional Chinese handicrafts,and on the other hand,it is also a new attempt to create contemporary metal reliefs.This article will start with the traditional chisel carving process and explore the application of chisel carving in contemporary metal reliefs.Finally,a series of creative sources and processes of graduation creations are introduced.By combining traditional chisel carving techniques with contemporary metal reliefs,exploring the infinite possibilities of traditional handicrafts in the creation of works to interpret the research significance of this project and the expression of creative ideas.
