Pictorialization is the general characteristic of this era,and the public’s viewing style is quietly changing. The relegation of reason, the transgression of vision, and the aesthetic dislocation lurking under the visual consumption behavior are both a crisis and a booster of art development, prompting the creators to seek a new vision and a new form to give birth to new concepts. This article aims at analyzing the status quo of Chinese watercolour painting, the formation and development of conceptual art and concept art in China, and then to approach contemporary Chinese watercolour painting from the perspective of concept.and to combine theory with case studies of outstanding artworks or creators to investigate in depth the conceptual expression of Chinese contemporary watercolor painting, and to address how to innovate the expression, create an interactive field with the viewer, and convey the creative concept. It will address the issue of how to innovate expression and create a field of interaction with the viewer to convey creative ideas without losing oneself in the confinement of a single and vague concept,in order to seek new ideas for the creation of Chinese contemporary watercolor painting in the image age.
