Research On The Construction Of Values In The Creation Of Documentary About Children

Childhood is the most unique stage in every person’s life,and the things experienced and educated during this period can affect a person’s life.The values conveyed by an excellent children’s documentary not only play the value function of leading children’s growth and discussing children’s education,but also reveal the social reality behind children’s growth by showing their daily lives.Therefore,from the perspective of constructing documentary values,this paper composes and summarizes the unique value functions of children’s documentaries,and discusses how to better construct and refine the values of children’s documentaries in the process of preproduction and post-production while following the objectivity of the documentary material,taking into account the creation experience of the graduation work "Leaping Childhood".The paper is divided into four chapters,with chapters two and three being the focus of the paper.The first chapter,based on the definition of the concept of children’s documentary and the characteristics of the subject matter,points out that in addition to the general values of documentary films,children’s documentaries also have special values such as recording children’s interest,discussing educational methods and reflecting on self-growth.From the perspective of pre-filming,Chapter 2 discusses the special characteristics of children as filming subjects and the need to master appropriate filming techniques to capture valuable images while paying attention to ethical protection and respecting children’s subject status,so as to lay the foundation for the value of the film.From the perspective of film editing,Chapter 3 discusses the use of narrative techniques in drama films to select and choose materials under the premise of "nonfiction",so as to build the values of the film in an attractive way.Based on the premise of conveying values through storytelling in the previous chapter,Chapter 4 continues to consider how to use the sound elements in the film to participate in the storytelling,so as to more directly refine the film’s values and enhance the expression of the film’s values from the perspective of post-creation.This paper combines many excellent films and takes the creation experience of the graduation work "Leaping Childhood" as an example,and proposes to respect the subject position of children,adopt storytelling narrative techniques and use sound elements to build the values of the film under the premise of the special characteristics of children’s documentaries,in order to provide some reference and suggestions for the creation of children’s documentaries.
