| In addition to hard power such as economy,military,and science and technology,the discourse system is also an important soft power element that affects a country’s international status.In order to promote international communication,the translation and communication of political literature have always been one of the important measures to strengthen the construction of our foreign discourse system.Report on the Work of Chinese Government is one of the official representatives of Chinese political discourse,which helps foreigners to have more knowledge of China’s policies and political cultures.This thesis takes the source text and target text of Report on the Work of Chinese Government as the research object,and it attempts to explore how the Chinese translator uses the strategy to make the shift from “invisibility” to “visibility” of this text.This thesis mainly uses the methodology of literature summary,corpus,and quantitative and qualitative combination.It makes a comparison of the original text and the translated text,and then it analyzes the phenomenon of invisible logic in the original text and translation strategies for the visible logic connection of the translated text.Through the data statistics and collection at the lexical level,and finally,this thesis makes a clear conclusion on the strategy of “Explicitation” used by institutional translators in the English translation of Report on the Work of Chinese Government.This study can also give some instructions on the improvement of political translation and the construction of China’s discourse system.Therefore,by comparing the source text with the translated text,this thesis analyzes the translation strategies of logical construction in English translation,for instance: adding subjects,supplementing conjunctions,reordering the sentence,and merging components.This reflects the process of invisible to visible in the English translation.Through logical translation,the text complies more with the reading habits and mind styles of the target readers,and thus it helps to enhance the readability and acceptability of the translated text. |
