| Nowadays,blended teaching has been widely used in higher education and gradually turned to primary education.The integration of reading and writing teaching can give students enough input of materials,and on the basis of enough input can help students write well.Based on the input/output hypothesis theory and theory of product-oriented approach,this study applies this teaching model to junior middle school writing classes,aiming to develop the teaching model successfully and improve students’ writing motivation,ability and strategies.This action research lasts for three months.62 students from Grade 2 of a middle school in W and three in-service teachers were taken as research subjects.With the help of research tools such as questionnaires,interview outlines,test papers and teacher logs,two rounds of action research were conducted to study the following three questions:(1)How to build and carry out the integration of reading and writing teaching model in blended teaching situation?(2)What’s the impact of the integration of reading and writing teaching in blended teaching situation in students’ writing motivation and strategies?(3)What’s the impact of the integration of reading and writing teaching in blended teaching situation in students’ writing ability?This study carried out two rounds of action research,each with four steps.First of all,before the first round of action research,the writing scores of students in the final exam of Grade 1 were analyzed.Questionnaires were distributed.And teachers and students were interviewed so as to find out the problems,understand the current situation of writing teaching in junior high school and prepare for the development of teaching plans.Secondly,during the first round of action research,teaching was carried out according to the integration of reading and writing teaching mode in blended teaching situation.Afterwards,students were interviewed and teachers’ logs were recorded to find deficiencies.During the second round of action research,the teaching model was improved and used again.After the research,interviews were conducted and teachers’ logs were written.After the second round of action research,questionnaires were issued to students again.Writing tests were conducted and data were analyzed.After the two rounds of action research,by analyzing the results of questionnaire survey,interview survey and writing grades,it can be seen that the integration of reading and writing teaching in the blended teaching situation has a positive impact on students’ motivation,writing strategies and writing ability.It can improve students’ writing motivation,promote the use of writing strategies and improve writing performance. |
