Exploration And Research On Liu Yuxi’s Ci Style

As an important poet in the Middle Tang Dynasty,Liu Yuxi not only achieved great success in the field of modern poetry,but also played a crucial role in the early development history of ci poetry.The failure of Yongzhen’s reform provided objective conditions for his exploration of ci poetry,prompting him to delve into the production and life of the common people and experience the customs and traditions of the wilderness.Under the long-term influence of slang songs and alleys,Liu Yuxi ultimately formed a personal style of ci that leans towards literati poetry in style,adopts slang songs in music,and creates in a sequence that follows the social trend of quatrains entering the song,opens up the era trend of relying on sound to fill in lyrics,and opens up Wen Tingyun’s ci style standards.This paper analyzes and summarizes the process of Liu Yuxi’s ci style exploration from four perspectives:Liu Yuxi’s previous exploration of ci style,Liu Yuxi’s method of singing poetry,Liu Yuxi’s ci style exploration,and the significance of Liu Yuxi’s ci style exploration.The first chapter sorts out Liu Yuxi’s previous exploration of ci style.After the exploration of Wei Yingwu and others in the Middle Tang Dynasty,the singing mode of modern poetry with harmony has matured.Inspired by musicians,poets have attempted to create more literati style lyrics,and have made initial attempts to create according to the rhythm;Chapter 2 analyzes Liu Yuxi’s methods of singing and poetry.In the aspect of song line style,Liu Yuxi’s song line style and sound poetry describe the customs of southern Xinjiang in terms of content,a lot of spoken language,folk ballads in music,and uneven miscellaneous words in sentence patterns,reflecting his ambivalence between slang and elegance,and between rhythm and sound;Chapter Three analyzes the process of exploring Liu Yuxi’s ci style.Under the influence of Yanle and southern folk songs,Liu Yuxi attempted to construct flexible and diverse metrical sentence structures with open and self-discipline,from breaking rules to following sound rules,from singing according to sound to singing according to sound,and from leaning towards folk songs to leaning towards literati poetry;Chapter 4 analyzes the significance of exploring Liu Yuxi’s ci style.Liu Yuxi inherited the relaxed and lively melody of his predecessors,embellished the literati style of folk songs,ushered in an era of relying on sound to fill in lyrics,and infused literati specific thinking into vulgar folk songs,leading to the standardization of Wen Tingyun’s ci style.
