| China and Thailand are both located on the Asian continent which are close to each other geographically.There are some similarities and differences of culture between these two countries.Therefore,there will be certain intercultural barriers in the process of the communication between people from different countries,resulting in misunderstanding and conflict.Non-verbal communication is a means of social communication and is closely related to intercultural communication.But there are currently few relevant studies in the field.Based on the author’s own experience and relevant materials,this paper studies the comparative differences of non-verbal communication behaviors between Chinese and Thai and proposes coping strategies.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction part,which mainly expounds the research background,purpose and significance of the article,explains the research methods adopted in this paper,and discusses the current research status as the basic premise of the article research.The second part summarizes non-verbal communication,explains the definition and classification methods of non-verbal communication,and then introduces the basic functions of non-verbal communication and its auxiliary role in language communication,and discusses its main characteristics in practice.The third part is the central content of this paper,which compares the specific non-verbal communication behaviors between China and Thailand,and the case collection is divided into indirect materials and direct materials,and the collected relevant materials are studied according to the following categories: body language,paralanguage,object language,and environmental language.At the same time,relevant teaching examples are introduced in detail,and specific analysis is carried out accordingly.The forth part puts forward countermeasures for the application of non-verbal communication of Chinese as a foreign language teachers in Thailand based on the actual situation of the author’s teaching life and daily life in Thailand,in order to reduce cultural conflicts,help Chinese teachers and volunteer groups to better adapt to culture,optimize non-verbal behavior in the classroom,and promote good communication between teachers and students,teachers and colleagues.Finally,the last part summarizes the above content,briefly introduces the research content,research results,and research reflections and prospects of this paper. |
