The Symbolic Construction And Symbolic Significance Of Character Documentary

This article takes the theory of semiotics as the academic framework,combines other relevant theories and academic viewpoints of film semiotics,audio-visual language,and documentary films,and uses the experience I have learned in creating my graduation works to interpret and elaborate the symbolic construction of character documentaries.This article is mainly divided into three parts: The first part is an introduction,briefly discussing the research background,significance,methods,and research status at home and abroad of this topic;The second part discusses the symbolic construction of character documentaries.Combining the relevant theories of audiovisual language and film semiotics,it analyzes the specific use of video symbols in my graduation work "The Pursuit of Light" from three aspects: visual symbols,auditory symbols,and linguistic symbols,and summarizes the rules and methods of symbolic construction of character documentaries.The third part discusses the symbolic meaning of the symbolic construction of character documentaries,mainly from the micro level and macro level,to summarize the methods and means of accurately generating symbolic meaning through symbolic construction,and further demonstrate the importance of the symbolic meaning of human and material documentaries.I sincerely hope that the research in this article can provide reference and reference for the further development and deeper research of documentary films in China.
