| Under the trend of globalization,people from different cultural backgrounds need to develop multidisciplinary and multidimensional communication,and the interpretation of cultural words,as an important tool for spreading culture,has become a hot spot for cultural research in the context of the globalization era,relying on the carrier of international Chinese textbooks.“Interculturality” has been developed to facilitate communication between different cultures and to enable Chinese language learners to reach their predetermined goals.With equality as the premise and interest as the entry point,this theory promotes the seeking of commonalities and differences between the two cultures and the creation and restructuring of a mutually agreed culture,which is always present in every stage of international Chinese language teaching.As a communicative tool and an important vehicle for the transmission of traditional Chinese culture,cultural words are bound to follow the windmill of the times and take on an ’intercultural’ dimension in the journey of international Chinese language teaching.Through screening a large number of existing international Chinese language teaching materials,this paper finds that the vocabulary of Chinese Wide Angle · Intermediate Extensive Chinese Reading Course is rich,covering a wide range of content,and the choice of cultural words is of great value to the dissemination of Chinese culture.This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,and refers to the four levels of cultural structure theory to categorise the cultural words in the textbook into five categories: physical culture words,institutional culture words,behavioural culture words,mental culture words and familiar words.From the perspective of "interculturality" and combined with the semantic theory,this paper compares the interpretation of the Chinese cultural words in this set of textbooks with the dictionary interpretation and concludes that there are problems such as inconsistent interpretation,inadequate interpretation,unclear emotional colour,interpretation out of practical use and difficulty in interpreting the words,The study concludes that the cultural words in the textbook should be equal,interesting and interactive,and have intercultural characteristics.This study uses the Questionnaire Star platform to conduct a questionnaire survey of Chinese learners from different countries,and selects some students and teachers to conduct indepth interviews,and summarises the attitudes and feelings of students and teachers towards the cultural words in this set of textbooks.Based on this,this study suggests that in the development of international Chinese language teaching materials,the interpretation of cultural words should be provided with Chinese-English interpretation,a combination of direct translation and description,and a variety of ways to expand the audience of the teaching materials;in the teaching of international Chinese language,teachers should combine lecture and practice and advocate experiential teaching.In summary,this study analyses and collates the cultural words in Chinese Wide Angle · Intermediate Extensive Chinese Reading Course,combining questionnaires and interviews,and concludes that the cultural words in this set of textbooks have unclear interpretations and interpretations that are not in line with practical use,and puts forward relevant suggestions for the writing of international Chinese textbooks and the teaching of international Chinese,in order to provide practical help for the writing of international Chinese textbooks and promote theoretical research and practical teaching.The aim is to provide practical help for the development of international Chinese language teaching materials and to promote theoretical research and practice. |
