| Resilience is an important variable concerned by positive psychology in recent years. It refers to the level of mental health and good physiological function of individuals after facing threats and difficulties. Most current research on resilience has found that the level of resilience of college students is decreasing year by year, making it difficult for them to cope with sudden changes, which affects their physical and mental health..The social healing theory provides a new perspective on how to improve the resilience of individuals. It believes that positive group identity and important group identity can positively predict the resilience level of individuals. However, the existing research on group identity and individual resilience is mostly related research, and the internal mechanism of group identity acting on resilience is not clear. Therefore, this study takes this as the starting point to explore the mediating role of coping efficacy in the process of group identity affecting college students’ resilience. This study is divided into two parts:In study 1,a two-level single-factor experimental design was used to explore the mediating role of coping efficacy in the influence of group identity on college students’ resilience from the subjective report of individual negative emotions and physiological indicators. The results show that: after experiencing negative situations, coping efficacy plays a part of intermediary role in whether the perceived negative emotions or the average heart rate of individuals are used as proxy indicators of resilience. In the second study, the stability of the mediation model was further explained by the process moderation model. The results showed that in the control group, individuals with high group identity had a higher level of resilience than individuals with low group identity perception.but,in the experimental group that initiated individuals’ low coping efficacy perception, the difference between the resilience levels of individuals with different groups’ identity perception was no longer significant.Based on the above two findings, the main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The more significant the group identity, the higher the level of resilience in the negative situation task.(2)Coping efficacy plays a partial mediating role in the process of group identity affecting college students’ resilience. |
