Emotional Expression And Practical Research On The Trace Language Of Chromatic Woodcut Prints

From the early reproduction of prints to the later creation of prints,the art of prints has changed from the early reproduction of prints to the later creation of prints with the change of times.The art of prints has shown a diversified development trend with the change of times.Because of the inter-connected nature of print,it is necessary to transfer the print marks on the paper to communicate with the viewer,so as to achieve the purpose of conveying the author’s artistic ideas,ideological spirit and personal feelings.When "trace" is endowed with certain expressive effect after a series of creative processes,it forms a unique "trace language".By summarizing the experience and perception of life,the printmaker selects the appropriate version for creation according to his mind.Different versions use different materials.Therefore,the created trace language also shows different charm.Compared with black and white woodcut,the "trace" of chromatic woodcut prints is a bit more colorful,a bit more woody than copper plate,and a bit more knife-like than screen plate.Moreover,with the continuous development of contemporary art,it continues to take on a new look.In order to deeply explore the emotional expression of the trace language in chromatic woodcut prints,the works of many print artists were analyzed.Firstly,it discusses the three major elements-knife technique,color,and texture to understand the expression and role of trace language in the screen;Secondly,the importance of emotional expression as the "source" of printmaking creation is self-evident.Therefore,from the perspectives of "knife marks" and "color marks",this paper studies the different forms of expression of the trace language of chromatic woodcut printmaking under the control of different emotions.Then,combined with the works of artists,it summarizes the characteristics of the trace language of chromatic woodcut printmaking: planarization,deconstruction,and visualization,And the emotional content contained therein: pure feeling,wanton feeling,deep feeling;Finally,based on my own creative process and experience,I will analyze the relationship between emotion and theme selection,as well as the correlation and transformation between "emotion" and "trace" in print creation.Through this series of exploration and research,we can better grasp the trace language in print art,expand its development space,and provide new ideas for the natural connection and transformation of emotion and artistic language in creation.
