| The culture of the Yellow Emperor has a long history of inheritance and has laid the foundation for the development of traditional Chinese culture.Nowadays,in the context of“combining the basic principles of Marxism with China’s concrete reality and with the excellent Chinese traditional culture”,it is of great significance to carry on and develop the advanced values in the culture of the Yellow Emperor,in order to realize the creative transformation and innovative development of the excellent Chinese traditional culture. It is also of great practical significance to unite people to realize the Chinese Dream, and to stimulate the vigorous vitality of advancing the adaption of Marxism to the Chinese context.Traditional studies of Jinyun’s transmission of Yellow Emperor culture have mostly explored the relationship between the Yellow Emperor and Jinyun from the perspectives of history, archaeology and folklore. It focuses on tracing the Yellow Emperor’s culture and Jinyun’s history back to their origins, but neglecting the material carriers in the process of passing on culture. Thus,it results in a disconnect between “cultural awareness” and “objective existence”.In contrast,Régis Debray’s mediologie is the study of the interaction between technology and culture from the past to the present, which highlights the significance of technology, culture and social groups on transmission. It considers technology and organization as two complementary parts of the process of transmission, and presents a comprehensive and objective history of human cultural development in opposition to each other. Therefore, this study uses the concepts of matière organisée(MO)and organisation matérialisée(OM)in mediologie to show the materialized carriers and social institutions participated in the process of Yellow Emperor culture’s transmission in Jinyun,as well as to examine in depth its process and significance. This study analyzes the transmission of Jinyun’s Yellow Emperor culture from two main parts. The first part is the matière organisée(MO),which focuses on how the development of Jinyun’s local productivity influenced local technological innovation,so that the naturally formed physical carriers evolved into tools for the storage of the meaning in cultural heritage.Through these materials,Jinyun has realized the local preservation of culture in space and time. This part of the study selects three prominent local transmission materials, including stone, spoken language and the Internet.Through examining how each carrier is re-organized again and again in the environment of technological change,it also shows how to further the function of cultural transmission in more advanced and stable forms. The second part is the organisation matérialisée(OM),which focuses on how the people of Jinyun are interconnected through social division, and then work together with the same goal to achieve cultural inheritance. In the process of passing on the culture, the people of Jinyun have formed a range of small to large scale organizations, including ritual groups, official and civil institutions and ethnic groups, all of which have different meanings in the promotion of the culture of the Yellow Emperor.Even though they are interlinked and distinct from each other, they have formed a concentric circle, and have promoted the heritage of the Yellow Emperor’s culture in Jinyun. The above-mentioned research shows that Jinyun,by constantly adjusting the relationship between matière organisée(MO)and organisation matérialisée(OM),has effectively achieved the transmission of the Yellow Emperor’s culture in both time and space in the local area. Therefore, the Yellow Emperor’s culture in Jinyun is becoming an important vehicle for enhancing the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation. On this basis, this study demonstrates the significance of the transmission of Yellow Emperor’s from the perspective of mediologie, and also fully demonstrates the theoretical explanatory power of this research framework in the fields of cultural transmission, historical memory and so on.At the same time, this study has important implications for the better development of Chinese culture in the world and the enhancement of the dissemination and influence of Chinese civilization in the new era. |
