| This study adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,through the means of questionnaire and semi-structured interview,with the second-grade students of English majors as the research subjects.It aims to explore the effect of different emotions and motivation on second language writing learning,that is,to explore the relationship between second language writing anxiety,enjoyment,motivation and writing achievement,and to deeply understand the causes of writing anxiety,enjoyment and motivation among English majors through the interview.This study uses SPSS 26.0 statistical analysis to answer the corresponding research questions.Descriptive statistics show that the second language writing anxiety of English majors is at a medium level,while the writing enjoyment level is lower.Correlation analysis results show that learners’ second language writing anxiety has a significantly negative effect on their writing achievement,while learners’ second language writing enjoyment and motivation are both positively associated with their writing achievement.Regression analyses show that only the writing anxiety has a significant negative effect on writing achievement,while the influence of enjoyment and motivation on writing achievement does not reach a significant level.However,both the writing enjoyment and motivation are negatively correlated with the writing anxiety,which reaches a statistically significant level.Furthermore,the author tries to deeply understand the causes of writing anxiety,enjoyment and motivation among English majors through the semi-structured interview,and summarizes and puts forward some suggestions on the writing teaching in English majors,hoping that learners can get better writing achievement and teachers can obtain better writing teaching effect. |
