Illustrations in textbooks play an important role,not only in attracting learners’ interest in learning,but also in helping learners understand some obscure and difficult content.Similarly,in Chinese as a foreign language,textbook illustrations can also make Chinese teaching get twice the result with half the effort.However,the illustrations in Chinese as a foreign language textbooks often have problems such as low correlation between graphics and text,unclear printing,improper layout,unattractive visuals,and improper use.Therefore,this article takes the illustrations in the "Road to Success" series of textbooks as the research object,hoping to provide some reference opinions for the compilation and use of illustrations in Chinese as a foreign language textbooks.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is an introduction.This chapter introduces the reason for the topic selection,research background,research methods,and research ideas of the article,with a focus on sorting out the current research status of textbook illustrations at home and abroad.The second chapter is the statistics of illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success".This chapter conducts a comprehensive statistical analysis of the illustrations in the 16 volume textbook "The Road to Success" from three aspects: quantity,type,and layout.The third chapter is an analysis of the illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success".This chapter summarizes the advantages of illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success" from two aspects: form and arrangement;The shortcomings of the illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success" were pointed out from three aspects:the correlation between graphics and text,the overall picture,and layout.The fourth chapter is a survey and analysis of the use of illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success".This chapter designs teacher questionnaires and student questionnaires to understand the views,suggestions,and usage of the illustrations in the textbook.Through various differences test analysis,multiple linear regression analysis,and other methods,it explores the influencing factors and usage profile of international Chinese language teachers and learners’ love for the illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success".The fifth chapter is the compilation and usage suggestions of illustrations in the textbook "The Road to Success".This chapter synthesizes the statistical situation and questionnaire survey results of the illustrations in "The Road to Success" textbook,and proposes corresponding suggestions for textbook writers,teachers,and students from two aspects: the writing and use of illustrations in "The Road to Success" textbook.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.This chapter summarizes the entire article and points out its shortcomings.
