A Study On The Storytelling Narration Of Documentary Films On Intangible Cultural Heritage

Intangible cultural heritage is a treasure in the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.Protecting and inheriting intangible cultural heritage plays a very important role in building cultural confidence and enhancing the country’s cultural soft power.However,with the continuous acceleration of globalization,these precious national wealth is experiencing unprecedented impact,and the protection of intangible cultural heritage has reached a point where there is no delay.As a carrier of film and television art,intangible cultural heritage documentaries possess the functions of image recording and dissemination,which can more objectively present intangible cultural heritage to the audience,and have significant effects in promoting the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage.In recent years,with the rapid development of new media,the audience’s aesthetic standards for documentaries have been continuously improving,and a single method of expression can no longer meet the needs of the audience.However,diversified narrative methods can increase the infectivity and expressiveness of intangible cultural heritage documentaries,which is conducive to better dissemination of intangible cultural heritage culture.Currently,China’s documentary films on intangible cultural heritage have gradually moved towards the direction of storytelling.In view of this,the work "Singing in the Deep Mountains" takes Wei Xiuju,the national inheritor of Xiping folk songs as the filming object,showcasing the inheritance status of Xiping folk songs as an intangible cultural heritage project,aiming to tell a good story of intangible cultural heritage and attract more people to pay attention to intangible cultural heritage.This article takes "Song in the Deep Mountains" as the research object and analyzes the storytelling narrative of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries as follows: firstly,it interprets the storytelling narrative techniques of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries,sorts out the narrative methods of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries,and analyzes the narrative characteristics of storytelling of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries;Secondly,combining some excellent intangible cultural heritage documentaries in China and the author’s graduation work "Singing in the Deep Mountains",this paper analyzes the narrative content of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries from the perspectives of theme selection,character portrayal,and story excavation;Once again,the diverse storytelling techniques of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries were explored from the perspectives of scene reproduction,suspense setting,and editing art.Then,the narrative language of intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries was explained from two aspects: visual language and sound language.Finally,an analysis and reflection were conducted on the problems encountered in the storytelling of domestic intangible cultural heritage themed documentaries,and lessons learned were summarized.At the same time,the author also hopes that through this research,all sectors of society will pay more attention to the inheritors and skills of intangible cultural heritage,and promote the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.
