Danxia Landform is a floorboard of landscape type that developed from red terrestrial clastic rock and featured by bare red cliff, with a history of no more than 70 years. Multi-scale contrastive study on Danxia Landform is almost vacant up to now. However, due to different study scales, contents of contrast and conclusions differ greatly. The paper started from spatial pattern and classifying system of Danxia Landform, based on space-time scale, human sense scale and statistical scale respectively, made a contrastive study on Danxia Landform of China. In order to clarify the concept, type, developing mechanism, evolvement process, sight difference, tourism evaluation and exploitation mode of Danxia Landform. In point scale, Jingjiling Mountain of Pingshi, Guangdong Province and Taipingshishan Mountain of Tenxian, Guangxi Province are selected as cases. Demonstration study was carried based on the theory of scale confluence. Main conclusions as flowing:1. Contraled by tectonic fracture and impacted by factors of red basin, spatial pattern of Danxia Landform of China shows the state of "strip spread, patch inlaid and centralized distribution". Mainly along an arc region of Xianxialing Mountain, Wuyishan Mountain and Nanling Mountain (the Southeast Area), a "house hoof shaped" marginal basin of East Part, South Part and West Part of Sichuan Basin (the Southwest Area), and a "T-shaped" region of around Lunshan Mountain and Hexi Corridor (the Northwest Area). After compare the factors of climates, vegetations, rates of land uplift and human activities of the three centralized distribution regions that detach landscapes of Danxia Landform, Danxia Landform of China is divided into three tourism regions: 1)" Tour in pictures of red mountain and green water", namely Danxia Landform tourism region of Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hunan; 2) "Danxia miniascape and native place of the bit Buddha", namely Danxia Landform tourism region of marginal area of Sichuan Basin; 3) "The Silk Road and Danxia Gallery", Namely the Northwest Danxia Landform tourism region in Shaanxi, Gansu. Ningxia, Qinghai and Xinjiang. An index system of Danxia Landform evaluation was constructed, 40 best tourism spots of Danxia Landform are commented for the first time, and tourism developing models of different levels are advanced as well in the paper.2. LT and OST were employed for dating the alluvium of river terraces of Wujiang River of Pingshi Town, and quantificationally study the uplift rate of the tectonic and age of Jingjiling Danxia Landform of Pingshi Town. DEM images and big scale relief maps of the studied areas were used to calculate the rate of erosion and cliff retreat.Indicated that, the uplift rate of Jingjiling Danxia Landform of Pingshi Town is 0.537m/10ka, the age of Jingjiling Danxia Landform is 384.8*1 Oka BP. And the retreat rate of the cliff between Paigang and Jingjiling is 0.49m/10ka. and the erosion rate is 10.66X 104nv7l0ka( 27.44X 104 t/lOka). It basically delegates the developing rate of Danxia Landform of Southeast China.3. The mechanism color forming of Danxia Landform appears as: the color formed physically, dyed chemically and biologically, and draw painted artificially in turn". Developing processes of Danxia Landform appears as: Moving model of substances in the early stage, namely "land activation, shaping of basin and depositing of red beds in turn"; Dynamic evolution model in the middle stage, namely "uplift of red basin, vertical erosion by current, landform shaping, and division of landscape in turn"; And the model of landform development in the late stage, appears as: 1) positive landforms, namely " Danxia fortress and stockaded village, Danxia mesa, Danxia stone wall, Danxia stone colurmn( pillarlike stone) and Danxia remnant hill(butte)"; 2) negative landforms, namely "Danxia flat hole, Danxia forehead-shaped hole, Danxia penetrable rock, and Danxia natural bridge"; 3) transitional landform, namely "vertical joint (appears after discharge or inter layers), Danxia Vertical hole, Danxia rock flower, Danxia gleam sky and Danxia alley".4. After questionnaire survey and flux statistic of the tourist spot of Danxia Landform in "golden weeks", found that the tourists flux of scenery spot of Jingjiling appears significant double apexes, double vales and single cycle. Rate of cognition of the term of Danxia Landform is only 5% in Jingjiling, and only 1% in Taipingshishan. It is necessary to enhance Danxia Landform popularization and Danxia aesthetics.Development of Danxia Geomorphology should combine theory study with practical appliance, meanwhile, emphasize regional conformity and contrastive study, melt research productions of relative subjects, consummate Danxia Geomorphology system, build up it's status of branch subject of international geomorphology as soon as possible.
