In the thesis the character and distributive rule and influential factors of ground stress field are described. The main contents of the rough set theory are introduced systematically, the influential factors and their weights of ground stress field have been analysed and computerized by use of rough set theory. The reason that the image filter makes the image boundary blur is explained, the image filter method based on the rough set theory has been discussed; we investigate for some issues of Landsat TM image, the issues include the imagery features, optimum composition of spectral bands and their color matching; meanwhile the effect of the structural feature on the reverse tectonic stress field has been studied, and the tectonic dynamics model reflecting fracture structure formation has been developed. The water system related to neotectonic stress field has been interpreted from the remote sensing image. As a consequence, based on the water system denseness method and the tectonic dynamics model, the directions and the values of neotectonic stress field have been evaluated by use of image processing and GIS software systems; the effect of topography on the gravitational field and its mathematical model have been described. Finally, the application of ground stress field in mining planning and design has been briefly discussed.
