The study on the mechanical deformation mechanism of the ice and the ice/structure interactions is an important topic. The actions of the ice on the ocean construction have been paid more and more attentions, with the opening up ocean oilfields in the cold regions.When the ice collides with the ocean flat, the action among them depends on the process of the ice/structure interactions. One side, this action lies on the total momentum of the ice plate (affected by the wind and the ocean current), on the other side, it lies on the mechanical performance of the ice such as the yield strength of the ice and the fracture form (crash and crack). The study on the ice/structure interaction, with the fracture force of the ice gained from the fracture form of the ice, is one of the basic researches. From the point of view of the mechanics, the fracture force of the ice provides the basic parameters of the designing for the structure loading and the boundary conditions and the initial condition of the security and stability calculation of the structure. But the mechanical features of the ice are very complex, the different relationships of the stress and the strain are given with the character, the content of salt, the content of impurity, the temperature, and the different crystal orientations of the ice sample, which make the research works more complex.The former designs have more limitation because of the using of the experiences gotten from the experiments. With the more opening up in the cold regions, more and more interests are put in studying the mechanical performance of the ice, making the constitutive model of the ice deformation and analyzing the mechanical deformation mechanism of the ice and the ice/structure interaction, to make more reasonable and more security engineering design.With regard to the mechanical deformation mechanism of the ice and the ice/ structure interaction, based on the fracture form of the sea ice measured on Bohai sea and the relative experiment materials, with macroscopic continuum medium mechanics and microcosmic mechanics, the main research items in this dissertation are as follows:1. The SD effect of the sea ice with cylindrical crystal construction has been study with the elastic-plastic theory.
