The differences between proteins make the functional differences in different cells. So the study of the difference in proteins between two cells under different situations is helpful to understanding of the function of "differential protein" and its encoding gene, and in turn, helps to illustrate the life activities of certain cell and organism. Besides, the identification ofdisease associated proteins or genes would have great potential in clinical application and commercial market. Therefore, the study on differential proteins and their encoding genes becomes an attractive field. Most of the available techniques in this field are based on the analysis at RNA level. However, some of the changes in DNA or RNA do not affect its coding protein. Furthermore, post-translational modifications also play an important role in the function of the protein. So it would be useful if the studies for the function of cells can be carried out at protein level. This study aims to establish the technique of "protein differential display", to provide alternative tool for the study of cell function. As there are thousands of different proteins in nature, to ensure the success of this technique, it is crucial to establish antibody repertoire library with high quality, to enable its recognition to as many antigens in nature as possible, and establish efficient differential display method.
