Cross-well tomography is one of the newest methods and techniques in geophysical exploration, acoustic wave and electromagnetic wave tomography have been widely used at present. In this thesis, the study has been done in instrument, softer ware, and the application of method and technique, the main results of the study are as below:Source of sound is the most important part of cross-well acoustic wave tomography, the technique of borehole source is a choke point that restricts the improvement of cross-well acoustic wave tomography technique. In order to increase the distance and the depth of cross-well exploration, we developed borehole spark source. This equipment characteristic is that the stored energy device and discharge controller were set in a tube, it avoiding the energy wasting in cable and improving the efficiency of electricity transform to sound.Through researching and improving the frame of discharge pole and discharge medium, the problem has been solved that spark source has ubiquitous unstable first break and stacking repeat accordant is not very well.Expatiating the recent progress of acoustic wave and electromagnetic wave forward and inverse techniques. Through particular discussing Radon transform that based on ray theory tomography method, educing the expressions of ART, SIRT, CG, LSQR that be widely used methods of repeat kind inverse at present. The concretely implement process was been given that based on Huygens theory and network least travel time and shortest path ray tracing technique that was popularity and more efficiency.Since it was basal same that the observed method, tomography theory and image reconstructed arithmetic of acoustic wave and electromagnetic wave tomography, we developed acoustic wave and electromagnetic wave tomography systemic soft ware that faced user. Decreasing the middle tache and improving work efficiency, since data preprocessing and tomography have been a unitive whole system soft ware developed, especially acoustic wave first break automatically pick up and electromagnetic wave data observed automatically transmit, it can quickly formed the data file of forward and inverse format, and very expediently using for user.It has been researched and analyzed that the physical character precondition of acoustic wave traveltime tomography and electromagnetic attenuation absorption coefficienttomography application. Through giving some examples, it was expatiated that the effect of cross-well acoustic wave and electromagnetic wave tomography technique application in different field and different geological condition. The technique of acoustic wave tomography was firstly used for inspecting of coal-bed gas fracturing, and having very well geological effect, this breaks a new field for the application of cross-well tomography technique.
