This thesis consists of two parts. The first part mainly presents the VUV luminescence properties of rare earths (Eu3+, Tb3+) doped some aluminates (one chapter is about some other oxides), and the second part is mainly on quantum cutting effect using Gd3+-Tb3+ in some phosphates. To be specific, the following work have been done:(a) The VUV excitation spectra of CaLaAl3O7:Tb3+ and CaGdAl3O7:Tb3+ were composed by a host-related absorption around 180 nm and Tb3+ 4f-5d transition band around 235 nm. Under 147 nm excitation, the optimal Tb3+ concentration for CaLaAl3O7:xTb3+ and CaGdAl3O7:xTb3+(0 |
