Flame retardants of spirocyclic pentaerythritol di(phosphate acid monochloride)s, spiroeyclic phosphates and its polymer were synthesized. The reaction mechanism and the probable configuration of products were studied. The influences of reaction conditions such as catalyst on the yield were discussed and the results show that pyridine and phase transfer catalyst affect the reaction evidently. The prepared compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR, TGA and DSC et al.1,4-Dihydroxybenzene and bisphenol A phosphate oligomers were prepared. The effect of temperature, kinds and amounts of catalysts on the reaction were investigated. The catalytic effect of A1C13 was better than that of ZnQ2 and MgQ2 and the optimum amount was 0.9 part per 100 parts reactant. The structures of products were determined by IR and TGA et al.The organophosphorous intumescent fire-proofing agents were manufactured and the effect of catalyst on reaction was considered. The IR, 'HNMR, 31PNMR and MS of them were analysized.The application of spirocyclic phosphates, phosphate oligomers and organophosphorous intumescent fire-proofing agents in PP, PVC, PU and nonwoven fabrics of PET were studied. The different amounts and kinds of these compounds in these polymeric materials were discussed. The action mechanisms of organophosphate flame retardanls and their synergistic effects with Sb2O3 and Al(OH)were researched. The thermo performance of PP/ spirocyclic phosphates and PVC/ spirocyclic phosphates systems were analysized and the action mechanisms of organophosphorous intumescent fire-proofing agents in PP were also considered.
