A series of 4-piperizinyl-l,8-naphthlimides derivatives with reactive groups and hydrophilic groups were designed and synthesized, which were used as medium of synthesizing complicated fluorescent probes. The recognition of three water-solvable probes to protons were studied, the results show they are well fluorescent switches for protons.It was found that N-(2-(2-hydroxylethoxyl)ethyl)-4-morpholinyl-l,8-naphthamide is a sensitive fluorescent probe to solvent polarity.A series of novel fluorescent probes with two naphthalimides and different acceptors were designed and synthesized. It was found that the novel fluorescent probes with 2,6-diaminomethylpyridine as spacer and acceptor can coordinated with Hg2+ sensitively and selectively, and the complex induced the fluorescence enhancement in neutral buffer aqueous. Best to my knowledge, the first fluorescent image of the probe to Hg2+ in live cell was obtained, and the distribution of Hg2+ in living cell can be seen under laserscanning confocalmicroscope.A polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer functionalized with a single 4-amino-l,8-naphthalimide group was synthesized based on the character of naphthalimide and the principle of construction of fluorescent probe, meanwhile the short-peptide probes and coordination properties of PAMAM dendrimer with metal ions were referenced. Its fluorescence behavior of the new dendrimer has been studied in the absence or presence of protons or metal ions. The system was a very sensitive chemosensor which displayed selective response of fluorescence quenching only towards Cu2+ in neutral buffer aqueous solution. A new coordination structure model in aqueous was proposed according to the spectrumof the PAMAM with Cu2+.Three novel fluorescent probes with three fluorophores were designed and synthesized. This kind of probes is PET system with fluorescent switch.A new molecular device with anthracene and naphthalimide fluorophores was designed and synthesized, which acts via both photoinduced electron transfer and energy transfer, and it is an efficient proton probe.
