Since the appearance of chlorimuron ethyl, the first acetohydroxyacid synthase(ALS) inhibitor in 1970s, sulfonylurea herbicides have been widely and rapidly adopted. They combine the advantages of high effect, good selectivity, broadspectrum weed control and low mammalian toxicity. Many international companies had invested lots of money into the development of sulfonylurea herbicides, and got many kinds of herbicides having excellent effect. Basing on the research of inhibiting mechanism deeply, five series of isoxazolidinone and 2-thiohydantoin (â… 1-7,â…¡1-6,â…¢1-6,â…£1-10,â…¤1-11) were designed and synthesized.
