In this thesis, Ecological Function Regionalization (EFR) refers to the process of dividing a certain study area into various ecological function zones according to the similarities and dissimilarities of regional eco-environmental characteristic, eco-environmental sensitivity and the importance of eco-services. The major aim of EFR is to lay a scientific foundation for decision-making such as regional eco-environmental conservation and construction, reasonable natural resources utilization, spatial allocation of agricultural and industrial production, and also to develop information and approach for environmental management department. The main contents of the research include: (1) Taking Fujian province as a case study, a systematic evaluation system and distribution law about eco-environmental sensitivity, importance of eco-service functions are given. This is based on the application of modern ecology theory and GIS, on the analysis of regional eco-environmental characteristics and major eco-environmental problems with their formation mechanisms, .and also on the combination of qualitative methods and quantitative methods. (2) Based on the above research, the author then puts forward the principles, criteria and index of Fujian EFR system. As a result, Fujian Province is divided into 2 ecological regions, 5 sub-regions and 107 ecological function zones. For every ecological function zones, specific eco-environmental characteristics, major eco-environmental problems and dominant ecological function are illustrated. Then the author proposes key task and concrete countermeasures for the zones. The achievements of the study will provide a scientific basis for the work such as the implementation of General Planning of Fujian Ecological Province Construction and regional eco-environmental conservation and construction. |
