The gas phase oxidative cracking (GOC) processes of model compounds, such as hexane, cyclohexane, benzene, decane, decalin and tetralin, were investigated in this dissertation. The aim of the dissertation is to find out if there exists feasibility for GOC of heavy hydrocarbons to produce lower alkenes or light oil. Emphases are put on both the comparison between GOC performances of heavy hydrocarbons and the pyrolysis performances, and the effect of oxygen on the cracking mechanisms of various feeding hydrocarbons in GOC processes. The GOC reaction, which is so different from the strongly endothermic pyrolysis reaction, is an internally exothermic reaction and is characteristic of high conversion of hydrocarbon, high feedstock handing capacity, and high decoking ability. Even though GOC of arene to lower alkenes was difficult, GOC of cycloalkane exhibited the similar high performance as GOC of alkane, and high yield of lower alkenes was obtained at a low temperature. For GOC of heavy hydrocarbons, not only a large amount of lower alkenes but much light oil was produced. Compared with pyrolysis, low temperature GOC of long-chained alkanes was more suitable to produce light oil. In GOC of decalin, the produced light oil mainly contained BTX (benzene, toluene and xylene) at high temperatures, while it was composed of alkylbenzenes, alkylcyclohexanes and branched alkanes at low temperatures, and was expected to hold a high octane number. The dehydrogenation performance for GOC of tetralin was much preferable and the produced light oil contained much alkylbenzenes and alkylnaphthalenes, because the presence of conjugatedπbond in...
